Dream of Hidden Building In Plain Sight

Author: Ryan Hutzel

Began by over looking the lower lot from the top of the hill at the church, at the face of the church building.  It was me and one other male figure. This male character was a little taller than me, may have been 6-foot, dark hair, likely brown, medium pale skin tone, clothing seemed modern, and medium build in body.  He was standing to my right as I was over looking the lower lot.  Suddenly, appearing near where the volleyball nets stand was a single-story large metal constructed building.  It had the likeness of the fellowship hall only a larger in size.  Its orientation was opposite of the fellowship hall.  Its length went with the church’s driveway.

As I looked towards this building that appeared from what seemed nowhere, a feeling of rage, frustration, anger filled my being.  I looked over at the man and asked, “What is that building, why is it there?”  He replied, “You shouldn’t concern yourself with it, it is nothing to worry with.”  He seemed to be very hesitant and nervous in his speech towards me. I answered back to him, “No!  I want to know why its there and where it came from!”  I proceeded to walk down the hill, the whole time this man, behind me frantically kept trying to deter me from going down there.  His remarks over and over were, “You really don’t need to see this building, do you?”  “It really isn’t anything to see!”  I said to him, “I will because I can, and you can do nothing to stop me.”

Arriving to this building, I walked up to the broadside facing the existing driveway.  Towards the front closest to the fellowship hall was a double set of doors.  There where no windows on this side of the building.  I couldn’t help but notice the building was in the appearance of new, the paint, off white/yellow metal panels like the fellowship hall, roof, etc.  all looked fresh and new, immaculate, but had an older design, like from the 1990’s.  The man again said, “you really don’t need to go in there, do you?”   I didn’t answer him, just walked up to the doors, and opened the door on the right.  The door swung outward as any commercial building entry should.  I walked in, turn on the lights, very bright.  The floor was sealed concrete, the walls were open to insulation (commercial with white plastic facing) as was the ceiling open to the peak with all the structure exposed.  The ceiling seemed high, guessing the peak was at least 20-25 feet up.  There was a dividing wall two ways.  One on the far side running with building and another towards the back of the building that would be closer to the church side.  Both walls were concrete and to the ceiling, firewall construction.  After observing this, I looked at the man and asked, how long has this building been here, why is it here, why is it so clean, but not in use, and why isn’t it finished?  He remained silent, didn’t answer.  This further instigated the irritation and rage within.

On the wall going running with the building, there was a single walk door, I walked over to it and opened it to find a smaller open area like the larger area, nothing further to be seen, again no windows, but unrealistically clean.  There was no dust to be seen, it felt as though being there made it dirty, versus just being unoccupied.  Looking towards the back part of this room I saw another door that exited back into what might be the larger area.  I began to walk and asked the man again, “What is this place?”  He just said, “There really isn’t anything to see, you don’t need to see what’s in there.”  He seemed so nervous, but unable to stop me from exploring.  So, I walked to this next single walk door and opened it.  Inside this smaller room, however the same width of the largest room, for it was the backside of that room was filled with floor shelves.  The shelves were about 8 feet tall, likened to the store shelves seen at retail stores, they were open frames, so you could see through them. There were 3, maybe 4 rows of these shelves wall to wall.  On these shelves were office supplies such as paper, pens, desk organization accessories, printers, networking computer equipment, and much more that I was not able to evaluate during my visit.  My attention was drawn to an old 10/100 network switch, likely from the 1995-2000 years (24 port hub for computer networking.)  This thing was old, but like everything else, it looked new and never used.

I was so full of questions, and the fact that the man would not answer infuriated me.  I asked one more time without him answering and only giving me a blank stare, “What is this place and why isn’t it finished?”

Dream ends.
