Dream of Not All Games Are Won On The Field

I found myself in first person onlooking a new team of baseball players to what appeared to be a group of males 18-22 years old. They were lined up shoulder to shoulder in front of the dugout. I remember the uniform colors being black and white, the players were a number of 10. I noticed this before I began to speak to them. Knowing that 9 players are required to for a full field, seeing there were only 10 creates little room for absences.

I began to talk by calling this obvious issue out. I said, “As you all know, 9 is a minimum number to play the game, there could be a time where we may not have enough to play a game. Know this, if we cannot play on the field, not all games are won on the field.” They looked at me with confusion in everyone of their young faces. I smiled and concluded with this, “Should we be forfeited to play, we will always be winners by helping while we are here, be it some of you help in the concession stand, others can help pickup trash around the park, and even so maybe cheer other teams on. In doing this, you will always be winners, even if we are not on the field.”

The dream ended with them smiled and looking determined, of course the idea is to play the game, no doubt. At the time of this dream, I have never coached any sports teams.
